This Intimate Lake Placid Wedding was so thoughtful and full of love from start to finish. Nicole and Michael are high school sweethearts, who happened to meet in Chemistry class! Que corny chemistry jokes!! Her family owned a restaurant in town, and it just so happened to be his favorite place for a Friday night slice! Nicole shared with me that it took her awhile to agree to date Michael, but quickly realized he was the one. I could tell right when I met them that they share a bond only kids in love understand, growing up together is such a special thing! She joked that her family called him “ Not her boyfriend Mike” in the beginning because she would try to deny her crush, how stinkin ‘sweet is that?! The love these two share is one for the movies, my heart could barely take it!

Both coming from larger families, the couple knew that they wanted to have a wedding a little bit outside of the town they grew up in, so they were able to execute more of an intimate guest list landing around 130. Michaels favorite season is fall so it was a no-brainer that October was the month to tie the knot, and the fall foliage in Lake Placid is just unmatched! While searching for venues Nicole knew she wanted everything to be held in one place. Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort checked all the boxes; Hotel accomodations, dog friendly, lakefront, and to top it off the venue is family owned! The coordinator took them on a tour and the cherry on top of the meeting was when they found out after the ceremony there would be a private boat ride for the two of them to soak in that newlywed bliss, just the two of them. Their dog, Della, was able to be a part of getting ready in the morning, and then the rest of the day was pure magic!

Sometimes it can be difficult for couples to land on the perfect venue when they do not talk ahead of time about what really matters to them. Some couples want everything on location, some want a natural element, and others go for a downtown loft vibe with the business and bustle. To Nicole and Michael, they wanted an intimate and romantic day full of slow meaningful moments and simple transitions.
